Am I Lost?

After crossing and photographing the Rio Grande Gorge and Bridge, Highway 64 comes to a kind of Y in the road....64 one way, Hwy 68 toward Santa Fe goes the other, but they are both kind of west bound.  I took the right hand of the Y and drove a little way hoping for a sign post.  What I found was from "space"!  I accidentally found Earthship Biotecture...A whole "subdivision" of what's been featured on so many television programs.  What a find!
I just couldn't believe that I had just stumbled into something
that I had heard about for a couple of years.  Inside what I
think is the first of these Earthships, is the showroom.

Outside it was really hot, but inside, with the
"windows" open, it was very cool and comfortable.

I didn't take a tour, so I have no idea what
this might be, except that it was unusual,
and beautiful...and most likely functional to
the overall efficiency of the home.
Ok, so this is a snap shot of workmen resting at lunchtime. But
look what they are building!  There were dozens of these homes
in this area.  All sizes, all different and all fitting into their environment.

I think this is a wind
turbine for the house under
construction.

I only stopped once more before leaving
New Mexico.  This is either on Hwy 64 or
Hwy 84 toward Pagosa Springs, Colorado.

I really liked New Mexico.  The back roads were full of beauty and surprises.
I look forward to returning and spending more time, not just passing thru.
