Beautiful Mykonos

The first island our ship stopped at was Mykonos.  Maybe because it was the first stop, or because I was starting to get into the spirit of the trip, but I loved this island.  Granville allowed us time to wander the shore, taking in the atmosphere of the harbor.  We met at the ferry to Dilos.  He pointed out that the Ferry to Dilos only had three trips in the morning and three return trips in the afternoon.  Dilos has NOTHING on it....it is very sacred, where no one lives, no one is born and no one dies there.  He said that if we ever returned to Mykonos, we should make the trip out to Dilos.
Granville took us thru the maze of streets in Mykonos, pointing our that every island was responsible for it's own defense and that Mykonos' defense was narrow, winding walkways with high buildings on either side.  It was a maze that invaders entered and the Mykonos residents could defend themselves from atop the walls.
On the walk, restaurants and very famous retail stores were all along our route.  I ended up having dinner at the famous Castro Bar/Restaurant at the end of the guided tour.  I had a waterfront table with the famous windmills to the left, a yacht with a helicopter toward the west and a catamaran dropping anchor right in the center.  How perfect!
