Greece - The Beginning

I have not posted since my last trip in March.  But I have friends and family that are not on Facebook, and can access my blog to see what I'm up to.  So I'm going to try to be better at posting to both.  This takes more work because I want it to LOOK organized and I want it to always have a comment or two about what you are seeing.  So here we go with the Greece Trip.

As some of you have known, I started a "diet" May 20, 2015 with the goal, not only to loose some weight, but to also not have to start taking high cholesterol and high blood pressure medicines.  I wanted to be HEALTHY by January 1, 2016, and to have lost the weight.  I lost over 50 lbs and did it between 5/20/15 and 12/31/15.  My goal was then to maintain it for 4 months with a REWARD at the end.  The reward has been a trip to Greece.

So here the adventure begins in photographs.  First, a picture of this intrepid traveler "rigged" up for photography in Houston during a Preservation Houston walk in downtown Houston.  I thought this would be my walking around rig in Greece, but quickly realized neither the backpack nor earmuffs were going to be necessary.  After all, this was taken on January 10, 2016.  It was chilly in Houston that day and I had on layers and layers of clothes.

So, my Greece adventure begins on May 13, 2016.  Flying into JFK, I had to spend the night in NYC to make connections as stress free as possible.  Saturday, May 14th at the International terminal this wonderful sculpture was an iphone moment!  I loved how the metal caught the light.  A good send off.
