Friends who travel thru time zones frequently had advised me to make the connecting city an over night stay. I took their sage advise both ways and truly did not have any "jet lag" problems. My transition city was New York City. And Friday, May 13th was cool and raining in the Big Apple. So much so, that we were delayed on the ground at Houston Hobby for well over an hour. Was this to be an omen? It turned out to be a good think, because the rest of the trip was flawless.
So getting out my camera to take photos in NYC was a little challenging just because I didn't want to get the camera wet before the adventure even began. But I ventured out at sunset; only to get these flowers in the garden.

The next morning I had a leisurely morning and a very quick airport check in. And then I was on my way. I sat in an aisle seat next to the window and as we lifted off, the Manhattan skyline shimmered in a silvery light that looked like it was a painter's vision. I didn't capture the skyline, but did get this of the clouds and water. I must keep my iphone in hand...I missed a great capture!

Finally, after 2/3 of a movie, dinner, changing into jammies given to me by a seasoned traveler that said that was the only way to be comfortable and get some sleep on these long flights (10 hours)......My first view of Greece. Iphone in hand, thru the airplane window....it still gave my heart a thrill. Why did it take me so many years to do something I had wanted to to all my life. Not just travel, but to travel to Greece.
